Vladislav Buben, well known under the name Buben, is a sound artist and an imminent pioneer of the underground scene in Bielorussia. The connexion between Buben and Anton Mobin was established by Rinus van Alebeek, a few months ago, when Rinus asks Anton a technical help to digitalize sounds from a tape which be used by Buben to compose the great album released on Clinical Archives : Moral Tranformations (ca377) > http://www.archive.org/details/ca377_bra After this technical support, Buben...

Of Places and Moments is a celebration of the art of field recordings. The tracks to be included utilized recordings from the Sounds Found Project, a repository of user-contributed field recordings. The source recordings were mangled, manipulated, abused and violated, in some cases beyond recognition, to create 18 distinctly different interpretations ranging from minimal drone, to noise, to electronica.

Yes, its true. This mighty fine album is not brand new; it has been released and available in the past on Jamendo. But all good things come to an end, and there where there are endings there are new beginnings. Anime Hill has graciously offered his very first album for a release on Just not normal and we couldn’t be more proud of this dark ambientish but certainly gorgeous experimentalic album. Enjoy the rich sounds and deep churns if you have not before and hopefully somewhere in 2010...

The color of the sky at 5:57 a.m.; the smell of a dormant furnace, revived; the feel of dusty boxes. Bells, blips, and boooooms. Precipitation is inspiration. Closets are emptied --- long-hidden treasure awaits. Circuit-bent instruments, analog synths, abused vinyl, and field recordings serve as the orchestra on this release. Best enjoyed on chilly nights in low lighting. 'This is the very first of Khate releases to be of free nature' We at JNN have been long time fans of her work, and are ever...

It was somewhere in 2009 that through NTNS radio I first heard of this Hungarian artist. I had played an album from him that was released on Amduscias Records and I loved that to bits. "Stereoscopic laid is an experiment in sound. What you are hearing are not 'sounds', but in fact are 'images'. The idea behind this album was to generate sound tracks equivalent to stereoscopic images, in which you see a slightly different point of view of the same scene with each eye, creating the illusion of depth. The process was really simple, I chose for each track an image and I generated two similar versions with a minor deviation, similar to the perspectives that both eyes...

The third second releaser comes from Brighton, UK. Paul Nadin, or better known as Voder has previously released his most beautiful album ‘Island’ on the fantastic Distance Recordings netlabel. Where before he used the recordings of a visit to Iceland to create an aural description of the various locations which he visited and made field recordings of, this time he takes us to the fields. Which fields as of yet are unknown, but I think in all of us slumbers that hidden field of our youth...

Awake in a dark room is the follow-up EP to Slow Motions, compiled from leftover tracks recorded before the album sessions, and one newer track (Avoid A Void). Because this EP consists of material recorded vaguely around the same time as the Slow Motions sessions it very much is a companion piece to the album, though musically itâs pretty different. Tracks 1 & 4 consist almost exclusively out of E-Bow sounds, while the middle two tracks combine the use of E-Bow with more traditional guitar...

Amazing how an entire year can just vannish, though not in the night of the full moons. It is then when Dennis Moser comes alive. Live from a vennue somewhere in Second Life. Only once more after this most beautiful series of meandering ambience, that has been given a throne and a home for years to come. One slight reminder; on December 27th the entire series will be broadcasted on Stillstream radio with live hosting. Make sure to be there! A year with Luna: 12 monthly meditations on the Full...

My initial apologees first of all should go out to the patient Jóse who had to wait a rather long period before todayâs release. Sorry sir, but timing was a bit awkward with JNN dwindling down in its initial pause. His and for certain your luck, is that now with NTNS dwindling down in its initial pause there is time and lust again to get back and release some gems your ears will certainly appreciate. There is very little I can tell you about the artist, all I can share are the sounds that...

Of all the remarkable releases from all over the globe this certainly stole my heart with its most weird and live recorded tracks that meander somewhere between the sound of The Orb, Merzbow and Zappa. A remarkable trio indeed to make its appearance in an album notice. AKU is a group of artists that got together in the Smooth Studio in Bandang, Indonesia in Januari 2010. One not often hears music from this island group, but there is most definately a lively experimental scene happening there....

The last full moon of summer and we are two thirds of the way into a year of full moon concert series. Another single track that comes close to the hour mark. Dennis Moser certainly treats us with the splendor of his musical talent. Besides the usual guitar and bassguitar improvs on this occasion Dennis introduces the wonderful sounds of the sitar (or dulcimer). It will certainly be a happy and sad day simultaneously when the goal set is reached and a full year will be catalogued and preserved...

MindSpiral is a series of collaborations between Mike Metlay and anyone who doesn’t hang up when he calls. This incarnation, mind6Spiral, resulted when Tim Walters (see e.g. JNN03) traded a night’s lodging (10 August 2008) for one hour of feeding audio from his laptop into Mike’s mixer, while Mike added his own sounds and a live audience on StillStream.com listened. It was a fair trade. Mindspiral Tim Walters

It was only natural the two came together after releases on timetheory and treetrunk. Mystahr provided a 40 minute live improv when mystified in his turn touched his drone-fingers on the material. Par takes (perhaps a series in the making) will take you into the depths of sound and drones.

Cezary Gapik (also know as CEZAR) was born in Czestochowa, Poland in 1963. He started his musical activity in 1980 as an animator of punk rock bands. Soon enough he discovered new sounds which were brought by the punk rock rebellion. Cabaret Voltaire, Public Image Ltd. or other “new wave” bands had an enormous influence on the perception of music by Cezar. Plunging into the fundaments of musical avant-garde (Karlheinz Stockhausen, Morton Feldman, Luc Ferrari, La Monte Young), the appearance...

Founder and curator of the Stereo-Type netlabel, KJ began producing electronic in 1999, having always played conventional instruments. Obsessed with sound, he has graphed charts of frequencies which cross reference chromatics vs. brain wave ranges and has used these maths in extensive self-experimentation, applying the results to composition. As “choenyi” and “Echo Yin” he has released varietey of netlabels since 2006. The alias “dxiv” predates these for many years and implies works...
